The Artillery Training School (ATRS) of the Ghana Army, has acquired a mechanized borehole, a pure water production facility, and a block factory, to help raise internally generated funds (IGF) to assist in administering the school.

The three projects were commissioned by the Commander, Army Training Command (CATRAC) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Stephen Woseadzikpo Kwaku Parbey on Thursday 26 September 2024, at Akoefe, near Ho in the Volta Region.

General Parbey lauded the Commanding Officer (CO) and his team for the initiative, and equally expressed appreciation to Hussan Development Limited for constructing the mechanized borehole, which is meant to aid in solving the camp’s acute water problem.

He also admonished troops to make good use of the school land by getting into farming, which he said, would help protect the land for future use.

CO, ATRS – Lt Col P Atuiri stated that the factory will produce quality and less expensive blocks for the many more projects envisioned to be constructed at Akoefe in the near future.

He added that, there is the need to establish the factory at the school since the area is now fast developing, and lands around the school has become hotcake, and would soon turn the area into a concrete jungle.
