The Artillery Training School (ATRS) has commissioned a Lecture Hall, Instructors Common Room, Training Warrant Officer’s office and 2 ablution units for males and females at Akoefe Camp, Ho.
In an opening remarks by the Commanding Officer (CO) of the school – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Patrick Atuiri on Thursday 27 February 2025, he stated that it took the collective effort, sacrifice and generosity of many to accomplish the project.

He commended Glico Group Company Limited, Mr CK Apenuvor, Artillery Officers and Soldiers who formed the nucleus of UNISFA GH 3, Soldiers of the Artillery corps, and members of the Ghana Artillery Officers Association for their immense contribution towards the construction of the Gunners lecture hall.
The Guest of Honour, and General Officer Commanding, Southern Command – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Samuel Yeboah Asare in his remarks, commended the Commanding Officer and the Instructors of Artillery Training School for their good initiative and added that their achievement demonstrated that with unity, initiative and dedication, they can make meaningful contributions to the advancement of the Ghana Armed Forces.

He continued that the project is a critical facility that will significantly improve teaching and learning in the school, and cautioned troops to make good use of the lecture hall, and the learning environment.
Brig Gen SY Asare also acknowledged the tremendous financial support provided by Glico Group Company Limited, Mr Cephas Kafui Apenuvor, Ghana Artillery Officers Association and personnel who formed the nucleus of United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) Ghana Battalion 2.

The President of Ghana Artillery Officers Association – Brig Gen Nicholas Kporku (Rtd) also applauded the Commanding Officer for his initiative and for effectively supervising the project to its logical conclusion.
