GHANA, US ARMIES LAUNCH EX AFRICAN LION

The Ghana Army has reinforced it’s commitment to fighting terrorism to the latter to ensure that the country and it’s citizens live in peace and in safety always.

This was emphasized by the General Officer Commanding Northern Command, Brig Gen MM Aryee during the launch of “Exercise African Lion” 2022 at Kamina Barracks in Tamale, Northern Region.

The launch was done together with the Commander, Security Forces Assistance Brigade (SFAB) of the United States Army, Colonel Michael Sullivan who recently commended Ghana for being a formidable regional force.


Exercise African Lion 2022 is a multinational counter terrorism training themed ” Enhancing International Collaboration for National Security and Development.”


Brig Gen Aryee noted, the exercise would afford the Army, in general, and his command, in particular, the opportunity to build capacity to deal decisively with any threats of terrorism that may confront Ghana.


Col Sullivan, on his part, stated that the exercise will provide participating armies experience and expertise in order to increase their capabilities to provide maximum security to their respective countries.


The exercise commenced with the deployment of a platoon of the Army Special Operations Brigade to Morocco and a comprehensive medical outreach at Karaga.
