The Influential Woman Foundation (TIWOF) has once again distributed Christmas packages of hot rice meals, soft drinks and water, to many under-privileged persons on the streets of Accra, under a project dubbed “STREETMAS”, which they have run for the third consecutive Yuletide.

At the forenoon of Saturday 23 December, 2023, converging at the 37 Max Mart, Accra, a group made up of twenty (20) women with men, distributed over 500 food packages to toddlers, pre-teens, teenagers, women and men, who loiter at the 37 Bus Stop, Accra Mall, and Okponglo-Shiashie Traffic Intersection.

TIWOF is a foundation founded by a female Soldier of the Ghana Army – Sergeant (Sgt) Effah Abena Ezra, and is focused on helping needy women, children, orphans, widows, and the socially disadvantaged.

Speaking about the endeavor – STREETMAS, the Project Coordinator, TIWOF – Madam Rosemary Akua Awotwe Nyen, said Christmas is the time for love, and as the Ghanaian culture has depicted in times past, food and presents are shared with the community.

She said it is in that vein that TIWOF is of the notion that there are some under-privileged persons whose feelings could be positively impacted, especially during the Christmas festivities, by giving them a simple meal, mingle with them, to make them feel a little relieved, loved and renew their hope.

She continued to say that various endeavours of TIWOF, like STREETMAS, which has been sustained through 2021, 2022 and 2023, and has been funded by members and supporters of the foundation, need more support and sponsorship from benevolent corporate bodies, individuals, governmental Ministries, Department and Agencies, to keep helping the needy in society.
