The Officer Commanding (OC), Ghana Engineer Company (GHANENGCOY) 8 – Lt Col Atsu Agbenyega has expressed satisfaction with the work of Moslems in the company, even though the month of Ramadan was unfortunately associated with increased terrorist attacks, which was exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and heightened insecurity in the Area of Operation (AO).

The OC made the remarks when Muslims in GHANENGCOY, deployed with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), marked the annual end of the Holy Month of Ramadan (Eid-ul-Fitr), with a prayer session, after a month-long fasting, on Sunday 24th May 2020.

The OC of the COY expressed appreciation to Muslims of the contingent, in particular, and of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), in particular and urged that prayers would continue for the Company, to ensure a successful tour of duty and return of peace to Mali.

The Imam of the Company, Lieutenant (Lt) Mohammed Ammen Shuaib, gave thanks to the Almighty Allah for a successful period of Ramadan.

Present at the short but colorful ceremony were the Second in Command, COE Officer, Chaplain, Adjutant and Company Sergeant Major.[vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”3983,3982,3981,3980″]
