The Ghana Military Academy (GMA) organized a 2-day Medical outreach for the people of Adaklu Waya and Adaklu Abuadi, as part of EXERCISE FINAL FLING – the last field exercise for Regular Career Course (RCC) Intake 62, Short Service Commission (SSC) and Special Duties and (SD) Intake 60 Cadets.
The 2-day medical outreach from 14 to 15 October 2023, in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region, aimed at providing essential healthcare services to the community, promoting public healthcare awareness and strengthening civilian-military cooperation (CIMIC).

The outreach addressed the immediate healthcare needs of the locals, by providing health education and examination on breast cancer, free consultation and medications to beneficiaries, in addition to various tests such as Body Mass Index (BMI), Random Diagnostic Test (RDT) for Malaria, Blood Pressure (BP), Hepatitis B and C.
Opening the outreach, Colonel (Col) Alexander Caan – Chief Instructor, Army, GMA, indicated that the program was aimed at showing gratitude and appreciation to the Adaklu community for cooperating with military academy to carry out their bush exercises successfully in the Adaklu general area.
A representative of the chief of Adaklu Waya community – Togbe Amafu, expressed his profound gratitude to GMA for the gesture, stating that most of the locals hardly visit health centers for healthcare, hence the medical outreach had helped the people to have access to professional healthcare at their door steps.

A total of five hundred and forty-eight (548) persons benefitted from the medical outreach, which was supported with donations from pharmaceutical companies such as UNICOM, UNICHEM, ZULTRON, TOBINCO and ERNEST CHEMIST.
