Cohorts of the Ghana Military Academy (GMA) Regular Career Course (RCC) Intake 31, have observed their 33rd Graduation Anniversary, commemorating the occasion with a donation to the Kpeshie Medical Centre, of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

On Friday 16 August 2024, RCC Intake 31, which includes GAF’s General Officer Commanding (GOC), Southern Command (S/COMD) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Samuel Yeboah Yaw Asare, and led by its President – Colonel (Col) Rogatus Komlaga (Rtd), presented 3 HISENSE refrigerators, 2 NASCO Indoor split air-conditioners, 1 CHIGO 43-inch HD frameless design television set, and 17 assorted medical laboratory reagents, to the health center, located on the S/COMD Headquarters compound.

Making the presentation on behalf of his team, Col R Komlaga (Rtd) recalled how the Kpeshie Medical Centre has served as a center of respite for many a cadet of the GMA, for many reasons, and thus, the reason for it to be the beneficiary of the intake’s goodwill.

He revealed that on the intake’s 31st anniversary, the group – which was part of the 22-month long erstwhile training regime of the academy – made donations to its Alma Mater, and the gifts included the lectern currently used by the GMA for all major occasions, amongst others.

Humorously, the GOC recalled an incident of their training at the Jungle Warfare School, Achiase, where none was supposed to handle any other food apart from what the school provided. However, an Officer-Cadet, his look-alike, ordered for food from town, and the deliverer, upon reaching the school and spotting then Officer-Cadet Asare, mistook him for his look-alike and handed the order into his hands, only for the course Non-Commissioned Officer to chance upon the scene.

The Nursing Officer-In-Charge of the Kpeshie, Arakan and Duala Medical Centres, and the Kpeshie Maternity Home – Col Josephine Henrietta Kumodjie, received the donation on behalf of the infirmary, in the presence of the Senior Medical Officer of the beneficiary health Centre – Captain Eunice Asiedu-Perdison, and staff of the center.

RCC 31 ended the day’s celebrations with a reception at the Arakan Senior Officers’ Mess with the rest of the intake members, who were; Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) Ebo Baiden (Rtd) – Vice President; Brig Gen Augustin Asiedu – Director General, International Peace Support Operations, GAF; Air Commodore Edward Gyamfi – Principal General Staff Officer, Ministry for Defence;

Others were; Dr William Kodwiw – Engineer; Mr Philymon Kann-Nanor – Insurance and Media Consultant; Sqn Ldr Richard Ayegbe (Rtd) – Airline Captain, ASKY Airlines; Mr Sebastian Ayikwerah – United States of America based Businessman.
