The Ghana Navy (GN) Male Handball and Tennis Teams have presented trophies they won at various tournaments to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) – Rear Admiral (R/Adm) Issah Adam Yakubu, after emerging the Overall Winners in the 2022 National League, and Runners-Up in the Champion of Champions competition, respectively.

At the presentation to the Navy Commander on Thursday 26 January 2023, where the two teams presented trophies and medals won in various tournaments at the Naval Headquarters, Burma Camp, Accra, Admiral Yakubu congratulated the GN teams for their splendid performances during 2022.
The CNS applauded the GN sports teams for shining the Navy in particular and the Ghana Armed Forces in general, with their immeasurable dedication and commitment, and admonished them not to rest on their oars but rather use the achievement as a spring board to even work harder.

He challenged the other Navy sports teams, to emulate the achievements of the Handball and Tennis teams, in order to perform better in the coming season, as he presented a token of appreciation to the teams and further assured them of his continuous support to enable them perform better.
The GN Male Handball Team, in addition to being the Champions of the 2022 National Handball League, also placed second in the Champion of Champions competition, and at the end of the season, Petty Officer Class One (PO1) Offei Daniel was adjudged the Best Centre-Back and Ghana’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).

At both the National and International Tennis Tournaments held in Ghana and Togo, the GN Tennis team also placed second in the Champion of Champions competition, where Able Seaman Class One (AB1) Nti Emmanuel placed Second-Best in both competitions.
