The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Central Command – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Charles Agyemang-Prempeh, has paid his maiden visits to 3 and Infantry Battalion (3Bn) and 4 Infantry Battalion (4Bn) to introduce himself to personnel and use the opportunity to familiarize himself with challenges in Administration, Operations and Logistics matters affecting the respective units and troops.

The visit to the Area of Responsibility (AoR) was from 14 – 18 August 2023, and at the Battalions visited, he was given a detailed brief by the Commanders Rear, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) E Tenadu of 3Bn and Major SK Dapaah of 4Bn, after which he held a durbar with all ranks.

At 3Bn, the GOC and his entourage visited the Forward Operating Bases (FOB) at Sankore and Atebubu, paid a courtesy call on the Regional Ministers of the Bono and Ahafo Regions, and also visited the Kumasi Shoe Factory, Kumasi Military Hospital at Aferi and Anglogold Ashanti Obuasi.

During his durbar with troops at 4Bn, the General Agyemang-Prempeh assured personnel of his resolve to deal with the accommodation challenges in the Units, and indicated that to augment the government’s efforts in accommodation provision, the Command has commenced a 30-unit accommodation project on a self-help basis to help solve the accommodation situation.

Furthermore, he commended personnel for their hard work and dedication to duty, but advised personnel to eschew any behaviour that would put the enviable name and reputation of the Command into disrepute.

Brig Gen Agyemang-Prempeh indicated that the mission and vision of the Ghana Army have not changed, and he will build on it to see a well-motivated and formidable Army capable of meeting global standards.

The GOC was accompanied on his visits by the Command Operations Officer (COO) – Colonel Henry Ansah-Akrofi and the Deputy Command Logistics Officer, Lt Col Michael Siaw Amoah.
