The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Frank Nartey Tei, has concluded his operational visits to units under his command with a visit to the Wa Naa – Naa Fuseini Pelpuo IV and his elders, and the 10 Mechanized Battalion (10 Mech Bn).
Brig Gen FN Tei, on Monday 2 September 2024, also highlighted the importance of conducting joint operations and training with the Ghana Police Service, to maintain peace before, during and after Ghana’s upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections, as part of Operations PEACE TRAIL.

The Wa Naa acknowledged the crucial role played by the military in keeping peace and security in the region, and praised the military for its numerous sacrifices to ensure safety for socio-economic development of citizens, as he assured the GOC of continued support for Ghana Armed Forces’ course.
General Tei visited Wa West District Assembly, where he held discussions with the Co-ordinating Director – Mr Plnyango Crispin, on encroachment of military lands, and also visited military detachments of 10 Mech Bn at Weichau to interact with the troops, and encouraged small group training amongst them at all times, to remain efficient and effective when performing duties.

The GOC also held a durbar with troops of 10 Mec Bn, where he praised their commitment to duties, and emphasized the importance of discipline, urging them to maintain the high standards.
The GOC was accompanied by N/COMD’s Command Operations Officer – Colonel Francis Bannerman; the incoming Deputy Command Operations Officer – Lieutenant Colonel Richard Ahey; Commanding Officer, 10 Mech Bn – Lieutenant Colonel Godfred Asampong, and Commander Rear, Lieutenant Colonel Obrempong Koduah.
