GOC N/COMD CONFERS WITH BUIPEWURA AND KARNAA, TO ENTRENCH PEACE

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command (N/COMD) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Frank Nartey Tei has paid courtesy calls on the Paramount Chief of Karaga Traditional Area – Naa Bakpem KarNaa Abdulai Natogmah, and the Buipewura – His Royal Highness (HRH) Abdulai Jinapor II, for cooperation and continued support for peace maintenance efforts.

As part of his operational visits to Units under his command, the GOC also visited the Karaga and Buipe Detachments of the 6 Infantry Battalion (6Bn) on Thursday, 15 August 2024, and Friday, 16 August 2024, respectively.

At the two palaces, the GOC called for their cooperation and continuous support to enable the military detachments work effectively, in order to maintain peace and stability in the region.

The KarNaa expressed his satisfaction with the conduct of the military detachment in Karaga, stating that the stability in the area was a testament to their good work.

On his part, the Buipe Wura also commended the military detachment for their professionalism and dedication to their duties, and assured General Tei of his utmost support in ensuring peace and tranquillity in his traditional area.

Brig Gen FN Tei also interacted with the soldiers of the various detachments, and commended them for their dedication to duty, urging them to continue to work hard to keep the communities safe.

He mentioned that discipline remains the bedrock of the army and thus they should strive to exhibit the highest form of discipline wherever they found themselves, and stressed the need for continuous personal training, to ensure they are always up to the task whenever they are called upon.

The GOC further emphasized the importance of professionalism in anticipation of Operation Peace Trail, which is to ensure that the upcoming elections in Ghana, are peaceful, and also assured the troops that the military high command is fully aware of their logistical challenges and is working assiduously to address them.

The GOC was accompanied by N/COMD’s Command Operations Officer – Colonel Francis Bannerman; the Commanding Officer, 6 Bn – Lieutenant Colonel Jerry Ankuyi, and the Regimental Sergeant Major, 6Bn – Senior Warrant Officer II Mensah Kofi.
