The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Southern Command (S/COMD – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Isaac Nicholas Paintsil has held a conference with Staff Officers at the Command, Commanding Officers (COs) and Officers Commanding (OCs) of Units under his command.
The conference held on Wednesday 23 July, 2025 at the Command Headquarters, Kpeshie Ridge, Teshie, was aimed at discussing operational, administrative and logistics matters, and tasks of the Command for 2025, as well as lay down the conduct of command tasks and responsibilities at the Unit level, as part of the direction of the Ghana Army.

The conference also served as an institutional platform for conceptual level deliberations, between the GOC, Staff Officers and Unit Commanders, culminating in giving guidance to the Command COs and OCs.
Brig Gen IN Paintsil outlined his vision, policy guidelines and direction for his Units, to promote synergy, enable them dominate and effectively overcome any threats that may arise in their Areas of Operational Responsibility (AOR).

Staff Officers at the Command Headquarters included the Command Gender Advisor – Colonel (Col) Samuel Acheampong; Command Logistics Officer – Col Franklin Gyamerah-Amoako; Command Operations Officer – Col Lawrence Agbedoawu; General Staff Officer Grade 2 (GSOII), Intelligence – Major (Maj) Jerry Ofori; GSOII Operations and Training – Maj Nana Boakye Donkor; Command Legal Adviser – Madam Charlotte Owusu; and the Command CAPO, Miss Catherine Appiah.
The COs and OCs present included CO, Headquarters S/COMD (Camp) – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) William Opoku; OC, Charlie Squadron, 851 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Regiment – Lt Col Peter Andoh; CO, 81 Signal Regiment – Lt Col Mubarick Ramadan, and OC, 1 Field Workshop – Captain Christopher Ampaabeng Appiah.

The Battalion Commanders are CO, 1 Infantry Battalion – Lt Col Frank Adams; CO, 2 Infantry Battalion – Lt Col Phillip Tetteh Nartey; and CO, 5 Infantry Battalion – Lt Col Prosper Adablah.
