The Minister for Health and aspiring Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku Constituency – Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye, has presented a cheque of One Hundred Thousand Cedis (GHS 100,000) to Headquarters, Southern Command (HQ, S/COMD), to help acquire medical equipment for the Kpeshie Medical Centre (KMC).
He made the gesture on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in response to a request by the KMC through the Command to the Ministry of Health, to help facilitate the acquisition of some medical apparatus, to aid the facility operate efficiently and effectively.

This comes on the back of a similar gesture by the Ministry to the Kpeshie Maternity at Wajir Barracks, a few months earlier.
Dr. Okoe-Boye, who also donated 60 LED street lights to the command, emphasized the importance of the Health Ministry and other government institutions, forming mutually beneficial partnerships with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), which would be advantageous for both institutions, and contribute to national development.
The Minister indicated that he had benefitted immensely from the KMC and GAF as a whole, from his days as a young boy growing up at Teshie, and schooling in the barracks, which has fine-tuned his character to what he has become today.

Dr Okoe-Boye further praised the HQ S/COMD for its efforts at maintaining peace in the Ledzokuku general area.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) S/COMD – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Samuel Yeboah Asare, expressed gratitude to the Minister and his outfit for the timely and important support that would go a long way to resource the KMC, which provides medical services to soldiers and locals in the general area.
GOC indicated that Honourable Okoe-Boye has been a generous friend of command, and the adjoining units in the Teshie enclave and footprints of his benevolence are evident to all. He expressed profound gratitude to the Minister for the kind and timely gesture and pledged that the donations would be put to judicious use.
