HQ N/COMD COMMENCES BASIC NON-COMMISSIONED TACTICAL COURSE 1/25

The Headquarters (HQ), Northern Command (N /COMD) has commenced a twelve-week Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Tactical Course 2025 (BNTC 1/25).

The ceremony which took place on Thursday 3 April 2025, at HQ N/COMD, comprised a total of 65 young Soldiers drown from 3 Infantry Battalion, 4 Infantry Battalion, 6 Infantry Battalion, 69 Airborn Force, 10 Mechanised Battalion, 11 Mechanised Battalion, 12 Mechanised Battalion, 154 Armoured Regiment, 155 Armoured Regiment and 93 Signal Regiment.

The 12-weeks course is designed to train troops as non-commissioned officers to effectively command and control.

As part of the training, Students will be engaged in a comprehensive training package which includes disaster management, internal security, counter-insurgency, and counter-terrorism operations, as well as two weeks of orientation at the Jungle Warfare School, Achiase.

Addressing the participants, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), N/COMD – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Frank Nartey Tei, noted that the course was a vital step in shaping the military skills of young soldiers in line with the Chief of the Army Staff’s (COAS) vision among others, which includes ensuring professionalism and combat readiness of the Ghana Army.

The GOC emphasized on the current volatile security situation in the sub-region especially in Bawku and the neighboring countries.

He urged students to remain vigilant, steadfast, and committed to maintaining peace and stability especially in light of looming terrorist threats along the northern frontiers adding that, this can be achieved decisively and professionally through constant training and preparation hence the need to run this course.

Brig Gen Tei encouraged the students to engage actively in the course, share ideas and support one another to make the training a success, and also urged all Instructors and Facilitators to give out their utmost best to ensure a successful course.
