HQ N/COMD CONDUCTS FINAL FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE FOR BNTC 1-25

The Headquarters Northern Command has conducted a 5-day Final Field Training Exercise (FFTX), nicknamed ‘Exercise Final Drive’, for participants of the Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Tactical Course 1-2025 (BNTC 1-25).

The exercise which took place from Tuesday, 3 June 2025 to Saturday, 7 June 2025 in the Savelegu general area in Tamale, was aimed at assessing the physical fitness and endurance of the students, and training them on command and control of Platoons and Sections in the field.

Some of the lessons the course imparted include Advance to Contact, Defence, Deliberate Day and Night Ambush, Raid operation, as well as Dawn Attack.

The outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command (N/COMD) – Brigadier General Frank Nartey Tei, who visited participants, commended the students for their commitment and dedication towards the exercise.

He stated that the training has enhanced participants’ physical fitness and developed their combat skill, adding that the invaluable experience gained from the Final Field Training Exercise (FFTX), will contribute to the enhanced operational readiness and effectiveness of the students, in their future roles within the Ghana Armed Forces.

He applauded them for successfully completing a vital part of their career training courses, and praised the instructors for their dedication.
