A Committee to review internal security operations of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has paid a working visit to the Headquarters Northern Command, Camp Nyohini on Monday 10 June 2024.
The aim of the visit is to assess the effectiveness of GAF’s Internal Security Operations and identify areas for improvements. During the visit, the committee was thoroughly briefed on the multifaceted internal security operations being undertaken by the Command. .

The President of the Committee, Brigadier General Ben Gah commended the Command for their dedication and commitment exhibited towards keeping peace in the sub-region. The Committee however identified some key challenges that needed to be addressed to further enhance the operational effectiveness of the Command.
The General Officer Commanding Northern, Brigadier General Frank Nartey Tei urged the team to take up the challenges and recommendations that would be outlined by units under Northern Command to Higher Headquarters.

Among the primary challenges noted were resource constraint and lack of a Standardized Operating Procedures for joint operations such as Operation MAIDA BUIRI. The committee emphasised the importance of addressing these issues to enhance the Command’s capabilities.
