Headquarters Southern COMMAND (HQ S/COMD) has organised a colourful send-off reception in honour of four Warrant Officers (WOs) who have successfully completed their years of dedicated service to the nation.
The ceremony, held at Kpeshie Ridge, Teshie on Friday, 12 September 2025, brought together serving personnel, family members, and well-wishers to celebrate the selfless contributions of the retired WOs.


They are; Senior Warrant Officer Class Two (SWO II) Yussif Nuhu Naabo – immediate past Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the Unit; SWO II Kwashie Wisdom Kwame, WO I Oduro Samuel Yaw, and WOI Owusu-Koranteng Adams, a cohort who are deemed to have seen to the progress of the Command and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) as a whole, over their thirty-year period of service to the nation.
In his remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) S/COMD – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Isaac Nicholas Paintsil, commended the Warrant Officers for their unwavering loyalty, professionalism, and sacrifice throughout their careers, contributing to the overall success of the Command and GAF.
He lauded the retirees for their years of sacrifice, discipline, and leadership, describing them as role models for the younger generation of Soldiers, noting that their invaluable service had left an enduring legacy, and urged serving soldiers to emulate their discipline and commitment.


The GOC also acknowledged the rich experience and expertise they have acquired over the period, and urged them to put them to good use in their endeavours as they transition into civilian life.
As part of the event, citations and souvenirs were presented to the retirees, in recognition of their distinguished service.
The retired warrant officers, in their response, expressed appreciation to the Command for the honour bestowed on them, and pledged to continue supporting GAF in diverse ways.
