ITALIAN AMBASSADOR TO GHANA CALLS ON FOC ENC

The Italian Ambassador to Ghana – Her Excellency (HE) Daniela d’Orlandi has paid a courtesy call on the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Eastern Naval Command (ENC) – Commodore (Cdre) Maxwell Arhen, to seek support and advice on an upcoming naval exercise between the Italian Navy and the Ghana Navy (GN).

Ambassador d’Orlandi used the courtesy call on Tuesday, 5 March 2024, at the ENC, Naval Base, Tema, to announce the impending visit of an Italian Warship to Ghana, in April 2024, as part of measures to cement the bilateral relationship between the two countries, and Italy’s willingness to cooperate with Ghana in the areas of Defence and Security.

According to the Ambassador, Italy considers Ghana as a reliable ally in security at strategic and operational levels, emphasizing that collaborating with Ghana was imperative.

Cdre Arhen thanked Ambassador d’Orlandi for the visit, and for upholding the relationship that exists between the two countries, assuring her of Ghana Navy’s support in the Defence and Security cooperation.

Ambassador Daniela d’Orlandi was accompanied by the Italian Defence Attaché to Ghana –Colonel David Rosellini.
