JOINT MILITARY AND POLICE PATROL LAUNCHED IN BAWKU

A joint Military and Police Patrol team to fight emerging trends of crimes in Bawku was officially launched in a ceremony at the forecourt of the Bawku Divisional Police Headquarters, on Thursday, 1st August 2024. 

The ceremony was graced by heads and representatives  of all security services. The Officer Commanding, Bawku and Police Divisional Commander, in their welcome remarks,  expressed appreciation to all dignataries  for making time to attend the launch.

The commmanders attested to the fact that military and police contingents in Bawku remain united and ready to work together to fight crimes.

Additionally, the Joint Task Force Commander for Bawku – Colonel (Col) Appah Yaw Owusu emphasised that the day was a commemorative day for operations in Bawku and its environs. He further stated that as chieftaincy related incidents become latent, security services are faced with a new challenge of crime, which has a tendency of undermining the gains made so far and that security services ought to unite to fight these emerging crimes.

The Regional Police Commander, ACP Mr Raymond Adofiem, speaking on behalf of the Upper East Regional Security Council (REGSEC), stated that it is important for the security services to stay united and harmonize their efforts in order to consolidate the gains made in security efforts in Bawku and its environs.

The programme was climaxed with a symbolic Joint Military and Police Patrols, accompanied by other security services through the principal streets of Bawku.
