JORDANIAN HIGH-LEVEL DELEGATION VISITS N/COMD

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command (N/COMD) – Brigadier General (Brig gen) Matthew Essien and the Base Commander, Air Force Base (AFB), Tamale – Air Commodore (A/Cdre) Joshua Mensah-Larkai, together with other Staff Officers has received a delegation from the General Intelligence Department of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The aim of the visit on Thursday 10 August 2023, was to discuss key areas of Cooperation, Coordination in Joint Military Training, future of military cooperation between the two armies, and other areas of bilateral interest. The collaboration in areas of training and operations would further enhance security and intelligence cooperation between Ghana and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The Jordanian delegation were given a general security brief and operational update to acquaint themselves with N/COMD’s Area of Responsibility, as well as a brief on some emerging threats within the Area of Responsibility.

Brig Gen M Essien, on behalf of the Military High Command, commended the General Intelligence Department of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for their support, and assured the delegation of Ghana’s readiness and commitment for a fruitful relationship, and were conducted on a flight tour over the Northern Border of Ghana.
