The Commanding Officer (CO), Jungle Warfare School (JWS) – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Jacob Codjoe has held his first year Quarterly All Ranks Durbar with Officers, Soldiers and Defence Civilian Staff, to outline his vision and mandate, identify challenges and prepare adequately for the next batch of recruits.
The durbar took place on Tuesday 26 March, 2024 at the St Anthony Training School, Mumuni Shed, at Akim Achiase in the Eastern Region of Ghana, where Lt Col J Codjoe disclosed plans to run series of courses in the school in 2024, and mentioned that, Young Officers’ Courses (YOCs), Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), Jungle Expert, Special Forces, and corporate bodies, among others, would be training at the JWS.

He charged troops to be alert on Barracks Security, and emphasized that every Soldier must be extra careful and vigilant, check civil vehicles entering the barracks to make the barracks safe for unexpected threats, and be wary of partisan political affiliation during the 2024 general elections.
He revealed that the unit is putting adequate measures in place to start fish farming, to enable JWS produce its own fresh fish, to reduce the pressure at the various mess and cook houses.
