The Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance (CILG), Ghana, has held its 2023 Induction and Awards ceremony, being the 5th since inception, with two personalities from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), the Commandant, and Head of Facilities Unit, being awarded outstandingly.
The event was held at the Schroeder Hall – the Main Auditorium – of the KAIPTC on Saturday, 11 November, 2023 under the theme “Cultivating Leadership for a Thriving Future”, with the KAIPTC Commandant – Major General (Maj Gen) Richard Addo Gyane as the Guest of Honour, who was represented by his Deputy – Air Commodore (A/Cdre) David Akrong.

The ceremony had specific awards such as Personality of the Year Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Distinguished Leadership Award, Doctoral Dissertation Award and Most Publishing Leadership Education Paper Award given to members, cooperate bodies, business leaders and Academicians from Ghana.
The 5th Induction and Awards ceremony saw the General Gyane being awarded the Distinguished Leadership Awards, with Mr Amar Deep Singh Hari – Executive Chairman of IPMC Company Ltd; Mr Samuel Dubik Mahamed, Dr Nana Ato Arthur and Dr Darius Osei, sharing in the Distinguished Leadership Award.
Reverend Dr Francis Sarkodie-Addo – Head, Facilities Unit, KAIPTC – who also is the Chairman of Professional Conduct and Ethics Committee of CILG, received the ‘2023 CILG PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR’ (the highest award of CILG) and also the ‘MOST PUBLISHABLE LEADERSHIP EDUCATION PAPER AWARD OF THE INSTITUTION’.
The Life Time Achievement Awards went to the following: Nana Adwoa Konadu Dsane, Vice Chairperson of CILG Ghana, Dr Irene Stella Agyemang – Vice Chairman, Public Service Commission, Ghana; Professor Herbert Kwabla Dei; Dr Daniel Mckortey; Professor Jemima Ankama Lomotey; Bishop Dr Sarfo Kantankah, Archbishop Professor Prince Hampel, and Mr Amar Deep Singh Hari.
Eleven (11) new members were inducted into the CILG’s Associate-ship, Membership and Fellow Membership categories.
The CILG is a professional body registered in New Mexico, United State of America (USA), dedicated to promoting the welfare, interests, education, and professional development of individuals whose prime responsibility is to provide leadership and governance in both the public and private sectors.

KAIPTC’s Rev Dr Sarkodie-Addo received citations for his two awards, a golden plaque and an undisclosed amount of money in his honor, after previously being adjudged PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR 2022 and 1ST RUNNER-UP PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR 2021.
Rev Dr Francis Sarkodie-Addo is a Reverend Minister, trained, mentored and ordained by the Association of Independent Ministers of Great Britain, a lecturer at the Accra Institute of Technology (AiT), where he is responsible for Ergonomics and Managing Safety Hazards at Masters Level, and has been Head of the Facilities Unit of the KAIPTC, since 2008.
Prior to this position, he worked with the British High Commission in Accra as the Technical Works Coordinator (TWC), responsible for Infrastructure Planning, Development, Maintenance, Procurement, Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE). At B. L. Harbert International, during the construction of the New American Embassy building in Accra, Francis was a Field Engineer and later became Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager for the same project.
Dr Sarkodie-Addo, who is a Fellow of CILG (FCILG), is an academic writer, influential, tenacious, and results-driven project management and critical infrastructure risk management expert, with huge knowledge in infrastructure audit, infrastructure risk assessment, project planning, safety, health and environmental management, and over twenty-five (25+) years of progressive experience.
