KAIPTC LAUNCHES 3 COURSES MAINLY FOR GHANAIANS

In an endeavour to endear itself and deepen relations with its hosts, West Africa’s acclaimed Training Centre of Excellence (TCE) – the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), has commenced three pivotal courses: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Peacebuilding, Conflict Analysis and Mediation, and Leadership and Management in Security Organizations, mainly for Ghanaians.

On Monday 8 April 2024, the Commandant, KAIPTC – Major General (Maj Gen) Richard Addo Gyane launched the courses designed, at the Multi-Purpose Training Facility at the KAIPTC, Teshie, in Accra, Ghana, and said “We are thrilled to open our doors and share our mission of providing diverse opportunities, for knowledge and growth in peace and security to Ghanaians”.

The one-week program for the three courses, will have participants explore how effective leadership and management in security organisations are paramount for fostering peace and security, and how the AI in peacebuilding course will navigate the complexities of the modern peace and security landscape, where AI emerges as a new phenomenon.

KAIPTC’s Conflict Analysis and Mediation (CAM) course, which is fundamental to fostering peace, is an additional focal point, as the TCE leverages on its experience to raise awareness of its relevance in the peace and security arena.

Present at the opening ceremony were The Deputy Commandant – Air Commodore David Akrong; Director Training – Colonel (Col) Barnabas Akanbong; Chief Coordinator – Col Chris Dagadu; Director, Administration – Col Robert Adwini (Rtd); Director, PPMED, KAIPTC – Ms Horname Noagbesenu; Course Directors, forty-four (44) participants: 20 for Leadership and Management in Security Organizations; 11 for AI and Peacebuilding; 13 for CAM.
