KENYAN HIGH COMMISSIONER CALLS ON GEN OPPONG-PEPRAH

The Kenyan High Commissioner to Ghana – His Excellency (HE) Eliphas Barrine paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, Accra.

The High Commissioner, on Thursday, 25 April 2024, congratulated the CDS on his appointment and presented a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to him in line with a new partnership agreement between Ghana and Kenya.

He highlighted, areas covered in the MOU included joint training and peace support operations among others.

HE Barrine added, the MOU would enhance their effort in dealing with security challenges on the continent.

The CDS in receiving the MOU, thanked the High Commissioner for his visit, emphasizing that, it was a significant milestone in the cooperation between the two countries.

He acknowledged that, both countries have had beneficial collaboration through exchange programs, therefore, the MOU when fully implemented, would further serve their mutual interests.

The CDS also took the opportunity to commiserate with the High Commissioner and the people of Kenya for the passing of their Chief of Defence Forces – General Francis Ogolla.
