The Director, Security and Defence Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, France – Le General Regis Colcombe has led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah.
The General visited the Office of the CDS to discuss ways to enhance collaboration with GAF, especially on training of specialists in all domains from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and to give a brief on the network of Regional Orientated Schools in Africa sponsored by the French Armed Forces(FAR).

The Chief of the Naval Staff, Ghana Navy – Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, received the entourage on behalf of the CDS, and expressed gratitude for the visit.
He acknowledged the long-standing strong relationship between GAF and FAR, and deserves further collaboration.

The French Defence Attaché to Ghana – Colonel Gregoire Madelin highlighted that France’s CDS – General Thierry Burkhard expressed his concern to GAF, regarding recent events in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, and therefore, pledged the France’s strong support to GAF.
