LT COL SK DAPAAH HANDS OVER 4BN TO LT COL JE WUMBEIDOW

Ghana Army’s 4 Infantry Battalion (4BN) held a handing/taking over ceremony for its Commanding Officer (CO) – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Sarfo Kantanka Dapaah to transfer authority of command to Lt Col Jenuni Emmanuel Wumbeidow.

In his farewell speech on Friday 16 May 2025, Lt Col SK Dapaah reflected on his time in command with a deep sense of pride and gratitude, and thanked and commended his troops for their resilience, professionalism, and dedication.

He also highlighted the successful implementation of several welfare and morale-boosting projects under his leadership, emphasizing his belief that “a happy and content soldier is a more effective soldier”.

He encouraged the Unit to continue upholding its values, and expressed confidence in the leadership of his successor – Lt Col JE Wumbeidow, stating, “I am confident that our Unit will continue to progress under the new leadership”.

The formal change of command was sealed with the signing of official documents and the handing-over of the Unit flag, as the processed was supervised by the outgoing and incoming General Officers Commanding, Central Command – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Michael Kwadwo Opoku and Brig Gen Albert Sison Ogaja, respectively.
