As part of Pre Operational (Pre Ops) Training to be deployed in Mali next year, the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), Ghana Engineer Company (GHANENGCOY) 8 is undergoing a Specialist Training for personnel of the Company at the Engineer Training School (ETS).
The Specialist Training organized by Global Peace Operation Initiative (GPOI) from Monday 2nd to Friday, 13th December, 2019, is aimed at ensuring that MINUSMA GHANENGCOY 8 personnel, are revised on their core roles and general engineering capabilities, before embarking on the Mission.
Personnel would be trained on Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Awareness, Identifying, Marking and Reporting of Unexplosive Ordinance’s (UXO), Explosive Ordinance Recce, Force Protection, Survivability, Plant Equipment maintenance and repair, as well as Mantruck Orientation, Field Fortification, General Engineering among others.
The Officer Commanding (OC) GHANENGCOY 8 – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt.Col) Atsu Agbenyega, in his brief remarks, urged personnel to take advantage of the training to upgrade on their skills and be guided by the motto of the Unit, which is “RESILIENCE and AUDACIOUS”.
The Specialist Training is in collaboration with the Directorate of Army Peacekeeping Operation (DAPKOP) and Engineer Training School (ETS).[vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”2622,2621,2620,2619,2618,2617″]
