Ghana Navy’s (GN) Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC), in collaboration with the South Tongu Municipal Assembly, has held a stakeholder engagement in the South Tongu Municipality, to introduce the command and its activities to the communities NAVTRAC operates in, and enhance cooperation with its operations.
The engagement on Friday 15 November 2024, at the Shekinah City Hotel Sogakope, Volta Region, assembled the paramount chiefs of Vume and Fieve, opinion leaders, business men and women, traders, transport unions, political parties, and Municipal Directors of Public Institutions, to enhance cooperation between the Command and its surrounding communities.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), South Tongu – Mr Innocent Tetteh, urged the stakeholders to accept and support the Command so as to enhance their work.
On his part, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), NAVTRAC – Commodore (Cdre) Solomon Asiedu-Larbi outlining some of the activities of the Command to the stakeholders, implored the communities to treat NAVTRAC as their own, and to partner the Command for their mutual benefit.

During the interaction, the stakeholders requested for quota for enlistment and recruitment into the Ghana Navy, and also requested for the regularization of the stakeholder engagements.
Also present was the former Deputy Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, and former Member of Parliament for South Tongu – Mr Kenneth Dzirasa, and members of the Municipal Security Committee.
