The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah has been honoured by Prempeh College, and fellow Old Students of the School, for his outstanding achievements and valuable contributions to the Senior High School.
The distinguished General was honoured at the 75th Anniversary celebration of the Prempeh College, on Saturday 2 November, 2024 at an event held at the school, which was graced by the President of Ghana – His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; the Mamponghene – Nana Osei Bonsu II, Ministers of State, the Old boys Association and many distinguished guests.

At the ceremony, Lt Gen T Oppong-Peprah, serving as the Special Guest, inspected a parade led by the College Cadet Prefect, and shared inspiring reflections from his time at the College.
He recounted a memorable moment when the Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), affectionately known as “Busanga”, expressed hope that one of the cadets, would one day rise to become the top soldier in Ghana – a view which, the CDS said, his peers disbelieved, but which has now become reality.

Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah further emphasized the importance of pursuing dreams, and encouraged the young “Amanfoɔ” – as the nickname of students is – to remain steadfast in their aspirations.
