PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH HOLDS MAIDEN MINISTERIAL ORDINATION AT BURMA CAMP

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has held its first ever ordination service at Burma Camp, for thirty (30) Ga Presbytery Ministerial Probationers of 2025, who formed the fifth batch of a total of 109 ministers who had been on probation since 2023.

The ordination was held at the Garrison Methodist Presbyterian Church (GMPC), Burma Camp, on Sunday 22 June 2025, and administered by the 19th Moderator of the General Assembly Council, PCG – Right Reverend (Rt Rev) Dr Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, with the assistance of all Chairpersons of the various Ga Presbyteries, and members of the General Assembly Council.

The solemn service saw the new ministers, go through extensive admonishing through a sermon delivered by Rt Rev Dr Joseph Appiah-Asamoah – and sequential individual vows, conveying the weight of their new roles for their appreciation.

The first batch of the PCG 2025 Ministerial Probationers was held for the EUROPE PRESBYTERY on 30 April, at Anointed Congregation, North London; the 2nd batch was for the ASANTE PRESBYTERY on 15 June, at Peyer Memorial, Bantama, Kumasi; the 3rd was for the WESTERN PRESBYTERY on 17 June, at Salem Congregation, Anaji, Sekondi-Takoradi, and the 4th was for the AKUAPEM PRESBYTERY on 19 June, at Ebenezer Congregation, Adawso.

List of Ga Presbytery Ministerial Probationers 2025 were: Rev Franklin Addo-Larbi, Rev Emmanuel Adeez, Rev Nathaniel Nii Adjei Adjetey-Lomo, Rev Samuel Adu, Rev Charles Kafui Yaw Agble, Rev Collins Boadu Ansah, Rev Barbara Asempa, Rev Lydia Aboagyewaa Asirifi, Rev Daniel Marfo Assamoah, Rev David Armah Ayebeng-Dormon, Rev Frank Ayisi;

The others were; Rev Kwadwo Ankomah Bempong, Rev Dorothy Anima Frempong, Rev John Kwabena Gainsford, Rev Ransford Kwakye, Rev Peter Cornelius Malm, Rev Gideon Mensah Mamah, Rev Theophilus Ike Nene Adi Nartey-Tokoli, Rev Jonathan Akai Nettey, Rev Matthew Gyang Nkum, Rev Benjamin Darko Nyarko;

The rest were; Rev Michael Nyemitei, Rev Dr Ebenezer Obour, Rev Samuel Kwatia Out, Rev Bright Antwi Owusu, Rev Samuel Kwesi Sasu, Rev Nana Yaw Ntiri Siaw-Adane, Rev Erasmus Nii Anyetei Sowah, Rev Abbas Ayittey Tetteh, Rev Edwin Tetteh-Bio.

Present at the inauguration service included Senior Chaplains of GMPC – Rev Commodore Paul Adjei-Djan (Rtd), Rev Commander David Quayson (also Chaplain, Naval Headquarter, Burma Camp); Rev Thomas Addo – Chaplain, Arakan Methodist Presbyterian Church, amongst many others.
