The Resident Representative of the President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission (RRPC) – Her Excellency (HE) Ngozi Ukaeje, has paid a working visit to the ECOWAS Stabilization Support Mission in Guinea Bissau (ESSMGB) Ghana Company 3 (GHANCOY 3).
The aim of her visit on Friday 13 September 2024, was to acquaint herself with the Operational, Administrative and Logistics matters of the GHANCOY, as well as to formally introduce herself to the Contingent.
The Combat Team Commander (CTC) – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Gabriel Mawuli Agboado and his Staff Officers, gave her a brief on the state of the Unit.
The RRPC thanked All Ranks for their efforts in implementing the mandate of ECOWAS, through operations undertaken by the GHANCOY, and the warm reception that was accorded her and her Staff Officers.
HE Ngozi Ukaeje also interacted with the troops, and commended them for maintaining a high level of discipline and commitment over the period.
She also commended the GHANCOY for the female participation, in accordance with the United Nations benchmark for female participation in Peace Support Operations (PSO).
The RRPC was accompanied by the Force Commander, the Deputy Force Commander, Chief of Staff, and Staff Officers from the Force Headquarters, as well as staff from the Office of the RRPC.
