by Kofi Ampeah Woode

The Security and Operations Unit (Reconnaissance Anti-Escape Squad) of the Ghana Prisons Service has engaged its personnel in Physical Training (PT), as part of regular routine activity meant to develop the physical capabilities of the Officers and Men under the Unit, to enable them perform their duties effectively, in a demanding holding facility.

From Prisons Headquarters to Achimota Forest on Friday 31 St January, 2025, the Officers and Men of the Unit were engaged in a 20-kilometre walk, carrying heavy loads, moving quickly and maintaining stamina under stress, ultimately ensuring their Correctional Security readiness, and survival in the prison facility, in case of any hostage or any prison crisis.

The training was under the auspices of Director of Operations – Mr Francis Selorm Hagbe and under the command of Chief Superintendent Frederick Johnson – the team Leader of the Security & Operations/Headquarters.
