TANZANIA COMMAND & STAFF COLLEGE STUDENTS VISIT GHANA BOUNDARY COMMISSION

A thirty-four-member delegation on a study tour from the Tanzania People’s Defence Forces Command and Staff College visited the Ghana Boundary Commission (GhBC), as part of the curriculum of the Staff College, under the theme: “Regional Blocs Strategies in Addressing Security Challenges in Africa”.

The delegation, on Thursday 28 March 2024, was led by the Commandant of the College – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Stephen Mnkande, and accompanied by the Defence Attaché of the High Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania to Ghana – Brig Gen JK Kadawi.

The Commissioner-General of the GhBC – Major General (Maj Gen) Emmanuel Kotia, welcomed the delegation and engaged them in insightful discussions – which focused on the functions of the Commission as well as other critical issues relating to boundary management, peace and security – after a brief presentation on the Boundary Commission was made to them.

The course participants comprised of Officers from the Defence/Armed Forces of Tanzania, Burundi, Malawi, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. For 2024, Course Participants of the Tanzania Command and Staff College visited three countries comprising Ghana, Botswana, and Ethiopia.
