TWELVE GHANAIANS ARRESTED FOR MINING ILLEGALLY

Ashanti Forward Operating Base (FOB) of Operation Vanguard Joint Task Force continues to clamp down on illegal miners in their area of responsibility, as another group of twelve (12) Ghanaian citizens, suspected to be engaging in illegal mining, were apprehended, during patrols at Manso Mosiaso in the Amansie West District on Tuesday 21st January 2020.

The suspects, between the ages of 19 and 62 years, have been detained at the Obuasi Divisional Police Command, for further investigations towards prosecution.

Meanwhile 5 pumping machines, 2 heavy duty batteries, 2 motor bikes, an excavator control board and excavator monitor retrieved for evidential purposes, have also been sent to Ashanti FOB Storehouse, for safekeeping.
