UNIFIL GHANBATT 86 SUPPORTS TWO COMMUNITIES IN COVID-19 MANAGEMENT

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Ghana Battalion 86 (GHANBATT 86) has donated medications, disinfectants, detergents, hand sanitizers and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Al-Qouzah and the Dual AF Infirmary in Rmeich.

The two donations, which took place on Thursday, 21 May 2020 at the Battalion’s Headquarters in Al-Quozah, was to support the two communities in the management of COVID-19, and also to provide essential pediatric medications for children in these communities.

The Commanding Officer (CO) of GHANBATT, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Abass Atuluk, presented the items which included 410 bottles of assorted Pediatric Medications, a box each of hand sanitizers, powdered soap and gallons of chlorine, to the Mukhtar of Al-Qouzah and a Representative of the Lebanese Armed Forces, who received the items for the community of Rmeich.

The  recipients expressed appreciation to GHANBATT  for the gesture, adding that it would deepen the long-existing partnership between GHANBATT and the communities in which they operate.

The battalion received sponsorship for the pediatric medications from Ernest Chemist Limited, with other donors of pharmaceuticals for the battalion being: M&G Pharmaceutical Company Limited,  Tobinco Pharmacy, Danadams Pharmacy, and Pharmanova Company Limited.[vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”3941,3940,3939,3938,3937″]
