UNIFIL GHANBATT 90 COMMEMORATES GHANA’S 67TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Ghana Battalion 90 (GH 90) has held a colourful parade to commemorate the 67th independence anniversary of Ghana.

The Anniversary under the theme “Our Democracy, Our Pride”, was held at the GHANBATT Headquarters, UNP 5-66, on Wednesday 6 March, 2024.

The Special Guest for the ceremony, and Sector West Commander – Brigdier General (Brig Gen) Enrico Fontana, lauded Ghanaian Battalions for their continuous dedication and sacrifices, to help in the peace process in Lebanon, and the devotion to duty, even in dire circumstances.

He also commended the Contingent Commander – Colonel (Col) George Abosi Oppong, and the Commanding Officer (CO) UNIFIL GHANBATT 90 – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Frank Kwesi Agyeman, for the spectacular celebration.

The celebration was climaxed with a Food Bazaar, and cultural displays of diverse ethnic groups of Ghana, who are represented in the GHANABATT.

In a related matter, the former Consul of Lebanon – Mr Michel Haddad also donated 12 officer chairs to the CO of UNIFIL GHANBATT 90 – Lt Col Frank Kwesi Agyeman, as a contribution of his quota to the GHANBATT.
