The United Nation Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Ghanaian Battalion (GHANBATT) 90 has held its Mid-Tour Religious Parade bringing together troops from various positions, and Staff Officers serving with UNIFIL, under the theme: “Appreciating the Blessings of God”.
The event which took place at the GHANBATT Headquarters on Sunday 31 March 2024, had the GHANBATT Chaplain – Reverend (Rev) Captain Eric Antwi sermonizing from the Bible verses 1Samue2:1-10, 1Corin4:6-8 and Mathew 17:1-8, to express gratitude to God for his protection over the period.

Conducting the Islamic homily and prayers, the GHANBATT Imam – Lieutenant Abdul-Majeed Shuaib Suleiman spoke from Surah Al-Fussilat (Quran chapter 41:49-51), thanking God for seeing the GHANBATT through to the mid half of the tour despite the instability of peace in our Area of Responsibility.
He entreat troops to remain loyal to the Commanding Officer UNIFIL GHANBATT 90 – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Frank Kwesi Agyeman, and the Ghana Armed Forces at large.
The Contingent Commander (CONTICO), UNIFIL GHANBATT 90 – Colonel (Col) George Abosi Oppong, in his remarks commended troops for their joint efforts and cooperation in fostering peace and stability in the region, adding that their unwavering discipline and professionalism would not go unnoticed.

He urged vehicle drivers to exercise extreme caution and diligence in the discharge of their duties in order to prevent road accidents, and admonished troops to remain vigilant at all times.
Col GA Oppong extended his deepest gratitude to the Commanding Officer UNIFIL GHANBATT 90 – Lt Col FK Agyeman and the entire troops of the GHANBATT for their service and sacrifices.
