The Ghana Battalion (GHANBATT) serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), held a medals presentation parade for personnel of UNIFIL GHANBATT 91 at the Battalion Headquarters (HQ) – UNP 5-66, Al Qawzah, Lebanon.
The medals presentation parade on Monday 16 June 2025, honoured the outstanding service and contributions of UNIFIL GHANBATT 91 personnel, recognizing their dedication, bravery, and commitment to peacekeeping operations.
In his address, the Guest of Honour, and Sector West Commander for UNIFIL – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Nichola Mandolesi, commended the Commanding Officer (CO), UNIFIL GHANBATT 91 – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Isaac Kobe Boako, and his troops, for the exemplary leadership, dedication and professionalism in the discharge of duties, even in the midst of hostilities.
The ceremony was attended by senior military officials, mayors of communities within GHANBATT’s Area of Operational Responsibilities, Staff Officers from UNIFIL HQ and Sector West HQ, and the Ghanaian Contingent Commander – Col Michael Kwame Mfum.
