The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) Ghana Battalion 4 (GHANBATT 4) has officially begun its Mission Leadership Training (MLT), with an opening ceremony which took place at the Army Peacekeeping Operations Training School (APOTS), Battle Training Camp (BTC), Bundase.
In attendance at the opening ceremony of the MLT on Monday, 13 January 2025, were Commander, APOTS – Colonel (Col) Ruben Dela Klutse; Commanding Officer, UNISFA – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Edmund Nana Nyarko Osae, and other Senior Officers of APOTS.

Col RD Klutse in his keynote address, emphasized the significance of the peacekeeping mission in maintaining stability and security in the Abyei region.
He stated that the training is structured into two parts: 3-week MLT for Officers and Key Appointment Holders, followed by a 7-week Military Skills Validation Training, and thus urged all personnel of the Battalion, to give their maximum effort to ensure the training’s success, cooperate with instructors, and adhere to the training’s code of conduct and standards.
