US ARMY GENERAL VISITS GHANA ARMY GENERAL

The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of the Ghana Armed Forces – Major General (Maj Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah has lauded the United States (US) Army for the immense support to the Ghana Army and the collaboration between the two Armies.

He said this when the US Army Southern European Task Force Africa (SETAF-AF) Commanding General – Maj Gen Todd R Wasmund paid a courtesy call on him at the Ghana Army Headquarters on Tuesday, 7 December 2022.

The COAS acknowledged the important role of the US Security Forces Assistance Brigade (SFAB) towards the training in the Ghana Army.

He also recalled the role of the US Army in the Ghana Army’s participation in multinational training activities such as Exercise African Lion in Morocco/Ghana and Exercise Flintlock in la Cote d’lvoire.

On his part, the SETAF-AF Commanding General stated that the US Army cherishes the relationship it has with the Ghana Army adding that his outfit was committed to supporting the Ghana Army in the discussed areas of mutual security interests.

Present in the meeting was Maj Gen Robert Affram – Joint Task Force Commander, Koudanlgou and senior staff from both the Ghana Army and the US Army.
